{ The Game }

After nearly a month of silence, fear, pain and unbelievable anxiety. I am back in the game, what ever that is. I am also a graduate of a "real life" degree, which is something I never thought I would be able to say. My course finished a week ago, climaxing with the degree show on the 31st of May and as far as I can remember it went really well. As far as documentation of said show, I will be posting images and quotes from the night over the coming weeks. There will also be a flurry of posts regarding my final project and the process and theory behind creating it, which as well as my essay did really well.

Iv had an amazing and extremely difficult year, especially in the last few months, and as this major chapter in my life draws to a close I am thankful for all the people who were with me and supported me though out the past 5 years.

I love you guys

{ Adobe & The Fleet Collective }

Things are starting to become real. With only three months left of education the realisation that real life will begin soon is becoming more and more intense. This, over the past few weeks, has sprung me into action. I have just got my grubby mitts on a legitimate copy of the Adobe Design Premium Suite from Software4students for a very reasonable price of £290, which I thought was excellent.

I have also landed myself a summer placement at a local studio/artist collective, The Fleet Collective. It will be a great opportunity for me to start my own business and do some work for the collective. I am currently working on a piece for their website which is very exciting.

{ I Have A Sink-ing Feeling }

See what I did there. It is the Christmas break at college and its time to finish up all the project loose ends for the hand and presentations on the 9th of January. The last few weeks have been a total nightmare for me but I have finished screen printing the second project. The prints didn't work out all that well as stand alone piece of work but I'm going to amalgamate the screen printed illustrations with their digital versions so I get the clarity of the digitally manipulated illustrations with the feel of the screen printed ones. I am really very pleased with them and I can't wait too see them in context and send them off to the competition.

For now though its Illustration Friday time.

This week the word is Sink. I did this illustration in the summer as a part of a collection of woeful outcomes to an illustrator/designers life. I hope you enjoy

{ New Year }

Well it has arrived, my final year in Dundee College. I started BA Design and Creativity, specialising in illustration, today and I am so excited to begin. The semester has been broken up into a totally different timetable than I'm used to but hopefully I will get the hang of it. And nine till five/six, five days a week. Its almost like we have real jobs. Which is a sobering thought.

One thing that I am worried about is the new campus we have been moved to. The main problem is that its is too clean and they want it to stay that way. I kind of want to make a big mess and say "Thats my corner. Il tidy it at the end of the year", but I'm not sure how that will go down.

All in all I am so excited about this year and the amount I will learn about my area of design and how I fit within its parameters. Im also really keen to learn more about getting myself off the ground when I leave at the end of the year. And of course the practical work il be doing along the way.

Il keep you posted on the progress I'm making though out the year.
